So you meet the love of your life and you and your partner want to share their lifes together. Only a small problem stand in the way of eternal hapiness together; your partner is not allowed to enter the Netherlands without a visa.
Unlike other countries it does not matter if you are married or not, as long as you can proof your exclusive relationship. You will be asked to submit proof for this later, such as photo’s of you and your partner.
In order to enter the country and apply for a permanent visa you will need to obtain a Provisional Residence Permit, or as it is called in dutch a MVV. Obtaining a MVV will be the hardest part, so lets see where you can apply for this visa. This is information from the IND website on where to start applying for the visa;
” There are two ways to start the procedure for obtaining an Provisional Residence Permit (MVV).
- A sponsor in the Netherlands starts the MVV procedure by submitting a request for advice to the IND or
- You can submit an application for an MVV to the Dutch embassy or consulate in your country of origin “
The route we took is the second one thus we applied directly for an MVV at the dutch embassy in Manila.
If you know what you are doing why waste time by first submitting a request ? Besides, you cannot appeal if the request for advice is negative but you can appeal the second option.
Expect around 10 weeks waiting time before the IND will give you an answer after you have applied for a MVV at the embassy.
Don’t be passive and wait around for them to call them if you submit something, follow up on it ! Call the IND (0900-1234561 or +31 20 8893045 from outside The Netherlands) or the dutch embassy (+(63) 2 786 66 66) and kindly request the information or an update. Remember: Always stay polite, they are only human too and getting mad or being rude at them will not help your case at all.

Ik ben gepensioneerd en getrouwd met een filipijnse vrouw met een kind. We zijn nu 14 jaar samen en wonen in de filipijnen. We willen op familie bezoek in nederland. Wat is de procedure, ik kan dit niet vinden op de website.

Dat is denk ik dan een toeristenvisa die via de familie kan worden aangevraagd.

until now i get confuse.,like what is a qualification to apply a long visa here in netherlands? and i am 20 years old it is posibility that my fiance can apply? i really need a answer.

Frechell, just follow this procedure on the IND site for more information, because it really depends on the country of your fiance among other things;

Overzicht voorwaarden
U moet aan de volgende voorwaarden voldoen:
U bent ongehuwd.
U bent 18 jaar of ouder.
U bent ingeschreven in Nederland bij de Gemeentelijke Basisadministratie (GBA).
U hebt voldoende en duurzaam inkomen. U moet beschikken over een netto-inkomen van € 1.239,15 per maand, zonder vakantiegeld.
Naar aanleiding van de uitspraak van het Hof van Jusitie van de Europese Unie van 4 maart 2010 (Chakroun) wordt bekeken hoe de regelgeving met betrekking tot leeftijd en inkomen moet worden aangepast. Als hierover nieuws is, vindt u dat op http://www.ind.nl onder ‘Actueel’.
Het inkomen moet voor minimaal 12 maanden beschikbaar zijn op het moment van de aanvraag.
U kunt de nettonormbedragen in de tabel vinden.
Uw partner moet aan de volgende voorwaarden voldoen:
Uw partner is ongehuwd.
Uw partner is 18 jaar of ouder.
Uw partner gaat met u samenwonen zodra hij in Nederland is. Uw partner schrijft zich in op hetzelfde adres als u.
Uw partner heeft het basisexamen inburgering buitenland afgelegd of heeft vrijstelling. Meer informatie hierover vindt u onder ‘meer weten over’. Hij hoeft het examen niet af te leggen als hij geen mvv nodig heeft
Uw partner heeft een geldig reisdocument (bijvoorbeeld paspoort).
Uw partner vormt geen gevaar voor de openbare orde.
Uw partner is bereid mee te werken aan een onderzoek naar tuberculose.
