About me
I am a dutch citizen who applied, and obtained, a MVV for my partner from Philippines. Because it was a very confusing procedure for us we ended up hiring a specialized immigration lawyer.
We have talked to a lot of people who have questions about the MVV procedure and always do our best to help them, as people have helped us before. In order to make things more clear for everyone we released all our information regarding the MVV application on the website you are now reading. Our hope is that this information will be of some help to people going thru the MVV visa procedure as we did before.
I rather stay anonymous for various reasons, but if you feel the need to contact us directly thru email then please feel free to leave a comment where we can contact you.
… remember that I am not a laywer and this is not legal advice.
Here are some links I collected fromsources where you can obtain legal advice regarding a dutch immigration law;

Thanks for this very useful website to help others that are undergoing what you went through with Dutch Immigration policies.
I am from a Caribbean island and I am engaged to a Dutch citizen. At this point I am preparing for the Civic Integration Test (I will be trying my luck at the test next month).
I really appreciate the efforts to help others by way of this site.

Dear bluember,
I studied on my own (with the help of my Dutch partner). I bought this book called “Teach Yourself: Beginners Dutch”by Denis Strik and Gerdi Quist.
Also, Code 1 Takenboek, basisleergang Nederlands voor anderstaligen
These two books allowed me to pass the exam with self-study after three months. If you are really interested, I can send you sample exams..

Dear ladyP and dutchvisa,
I would love to receive some sample exams. Can you send me some?
I also have a question regarding the test;for the part of “repeating the sentences”, do you get a piece of paper with the sentences written and then you have to repeat them? or you just hear them through the headphones and then repeat them?
I would realy appreciate your help with this.
I am thinking in taking the test this November.
Thank you!

Dear Kapir ,
Please send me an email at foxyann_18@yahoo.com, so that I may send you the sample Civic Integration Exams that I have.
No, you don’t get a piece of paper with anything written on it. Everything is audio via the phone. You only hear the sentences and repeat.

I will be giving the exam in March end.Can you tell me how did you prepare for the sentence repeatation part?

Hi Rmp2011,
I think this is the easiest part of the exam, as you don’t have to be “correct” with your answer. All you have to do is imitate the sounds that you hear. You don’t have to repeat the sentence word for word as you heard it. Just “rhyme” along. Match the ups and down in the tone of the sentence.
Warning: The sentences go extremely fast! It will sound like gibberish. I preapred by asking by Dutch husband to say sentences to me (over the telephone/Skype) and I repeat them. Each time he says the sentences a little bit faster. By the way, make sure that you are not seeing the person’s mouth or face when practising. Afterall, the test will be over the phone. Some sentences range from between 4 to 8 words.
Example sentences (that I remember)
“Heb je een pen bij je?”/ “Do you have a pen?”
“Door de harde regen zijn veel planten beschadigd”/ ” many plants were damaged”
Good luck!

CORRECTION: “Match the ups and down in the tone of the sentence” – What I mean is try to match the tone, the ups and down/rhythm in the voice giving the sentence over the phone

Good day,
I’ve came across your site and I wish to ask some advice because I want to apply for schengen visa in the Dutch embassy because my Dutch boyfriend is seriously ill and I wanted to immediately see him, it’s a life and death situation. Can I mention that in the interview? Visiting him is my only reason of going there. He is supposed to come here but due to his condition he can’t travel. And with his current situation he can’t sponsor me so I’ll have to shoulder my expenses. But I really want to see him as soon as possible.Do you think the Dutch embassy will give consideration to my situation?
I am looking forward for your reply as of now I badly need one.Thank you.
Best regards,
Marivic

At first, i want to thank you for this site, it is really helpful for me. I am studying for this exam now. I had a Dutch teacher for the basis lessons, but now my teacher is not available to teach me. So i am studing myself and practice with my Dutch boyfriend. I intend to take the exam in the end of September. Would you mind sending me the sample exam for practising and some advices for the exam? Thanks and regards.

Hi everyone! I leave this message hoping someone can help me with my situation. I’m gonna apply for the MVV but the only thing that holds me back is my annulment papers from the court! I’ve already passed inburgering examen last March 2011. Since the validity of this exam is only 1 year, I feared I must take the exam again if I can’t have the visa before March 28, 2012! I am planning to work as a nanny first so if I already have employer there who can help me with my working visa, I think it is easier for me to be with my man! What do you think folks?

hello!
It is very much appreciated that you’ve made such an effort helping people with this problem!
I am a dutch citizen living abroad, planning to move to the Netherlands soon, to do my studies there and maybe decide to stay… the only “problem” is, that my husband isn’t dutch, or an EU member..
Since i dont live in holland yet, and am about to become a student, i wouldn’t, probably, reach the amount, requested by the imigration, allowing me to be his spouse..
If you have any idea what can i do, who could i consult, i would love to hear it.
Thank you very much and happy new year!
